Bio
I am Keni Li, a China-born photographer currently based in Glasgow, where I am pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Glasgow. I previously earned a Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Art at the University of Edinburgh. My doctoral research explores photography, literature, and memory writing, with particular focus on photo-text, intermediality, women artists, women photographers, and cultural memory.
In 2024, I presented the exhibition Memory Photo-booth, funded by the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH) (Digital archive of my programme: https://sgsahresearch.com/portfolio/keni-li/) I have worked with several art institutions, including the Greek Feminist Autonomous Center and Talbot Rice Gallery in Edinburgh. My forthcoming book chapter, Reinventing Contemporary Exhibition Space: Novels, Domestic Space, and Cinematic Cartography, will be published in Exhibition Matters: Contemporary Displays and Exhibition-Making Practices (Bloomsbury, 2025) (https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/exhibition-matters-9781350575561/)
